This Swan has built a pretty amazing nest on one of the little islands in the pond in Herbert park. I'll be keeping my eye out for ugly ducklings in the near future, apparently it takes about 5-6 weeks from when they are laid.
I remember a few years a swan nested right beside the footpath on the grand canal somewhere near Leeson St and people had to keep an eye on it incase some nutter attacked it, but I can't find any info about it anywhere.....

Internationally acclaimed contemporary artist Spencer Tunick will be offering the chance of a lifetime to become part of his first back to back city art project in both Cork and Dublin this June. Multiple groups of nude participants will be photographed outdoors by Tunick as part of his series of installations that have previously taken place in cities around the world including New York, Amsterdam and Mexico City. Ladyhawke - My new favourite tune.
John saw her at the Camden Crawl and said she was amazing live. It would be cool if she showed up at EP08. I went to the trouble og buying this track through the Ladyhawke website via 7digital and it turned out to be a bogus protected .wma file that I can't play on my mac. I'd like my 79p back please.
This and some other great tracks are on Ladyhawke's myspace.

Judging a Pie by it's cover
I went in to Listons this morning to get some hopefully yummy salad boxes for myself and my erstwhile producer John, for our brainstorming lunch today, and when I got to the cash register the attendant was on the phone to what as obviously a supplier, talking about packaging. It sounded intriguing so when she got off the phone I asked her what it was about. She told me they had been selling these delicious organic pies from a local farmer that the customers couldn't get enough off. They were home made and simply wrapped in cellophane. As business was doing so well, the farmer decided to invest in some nice boxed packaging for the individual pies. As time went by sales trailed off to the point where they were going to cancel the order. Before doing so though, the manager suggested to the farmer that they try the old cellophane packaging again and sure enough the things started flying out the door again. People simply felt that the cling film suggested something fresher and more genuine and Farmer Pie is back in business.
Where it would have seemed that clever packaging would up the product sales, the opposite in fact was true.
