"This is a farewell kiss from the Iraqi People, you dog"

That's what journalist Muntadar al-Zaid, yelled when he hurled his shoes at "President" Bush. A website has been created to honour his actions, appropriately it's called Thank You For Throwing Your Shoe. People from all over the world are giving the guy a thumbs up.

Making Dublin work harder

John and I just went on a nerdtastic tour of the Houses of the Oireachtas. You're not allowed take photos but I took one of the Christmas tree anyway! Anyone can get a free tour, the porters are amazing tour-guides and full of interesting snippets - (like when Countess Markovitz died, the poor of Dublin loved her so much that they scraped all their pennies together and sent 6 truckloads of flowers to follow her coffin to Glasnevin.)

Malcom Gladwell in UCD
